1. Who handles your information
Kien Hoang, based in Vietnam, operates Makereel (makereel.kienhoang.me) and is responsible for the personal information processed to operate the service. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit our website, sign in, create content, or contact us. For privacy questions and requests, email [email protected].
2. Information we process
- Account information: your email, name, profile image where provided, account identifiers, and verification status. If you choose Google sign-in, we receive the profile and authentication information supplied through that sign-in flow.
- Authentication and security information: session records, sign-in tokens, account-provider credentials needed for authentication, and information used to limit abusive requests, which may include an IP address supplied by trusted infrastructure.
- Your workspace content: uploaded images, source links, templates, prompts, conversations with AI features, generated text and images, Slideshows, edits, and associated project information.
- Connected channels: when the optional TikTok connection is configured and you use it, channel identifiers, display names, and profile images are retrieved through the Postiz integration.
- Billing information: customer and subscription identifiers, purchase and payment status, credit balances and usage, and payment, refund, or dispute records received from our payment provider. Payment details entered at checkout are handled by Dodo Payments; our billing integration uses provider references rather than storing full payment-card numbers.
- Support and technical information: messages you send us and operational records needed to troubleshoot requests and service failures. Hosting and network providers may also process connection and device information as part of delivering the service.
3. Why we use information
We use information to authenticate you, save and edit your content, process the AI requests you initiate, manage subscriptions and credits, provide support, prevent abuse, maintain service reliability, and comply with legal obligations.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing necessary to provide your requested service is based on performing our agreement with you; legally required records are processed to meet legal obligations. Security and service maintenance may rely on legitimate interests where that basis is available and does not override your rights. Where consent is required, we will seek it and you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
4. Service providers and disclosures
Information is shared as needed to operate the features you use:
- Google participates in authentication when you choose Google sign-in.
- Resend processes the email address and message information needed to deliver sign-in emails.
- Dodo Payments processes checkout and subscription information, including the account name and email supplied for billing, and returns billing events to Makereel.
- Postiz and TikTok participate in the optional channel connection flow when enabled. Authorization is handled through that flow, and Makereel retrieves channel information to display connected channels. You can manage permissions through the connected service.
- AI providers process prompts and relevant content, such as text, images, or conversation context, when an AI feature is used. The provider depends on the feature and service configuration. Contact us for current provider information before submitting content that requires particular processing restrictions.
- Hosting, database, and file-storage providers process service records and uploaded or generated assets needed to operate your workspace.
Providers may process information under their own applicable terms and privacy policies. This policy does not promise a particular AI provider’s training or retention practices. Avoid submitting information you are not authorized to share with a processing provider.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or when necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, and establish or defend legal claims. A business transfer may involve relevant information, subject to applicable privacy obligations and required notice.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as it is needed for the purpose described in this policy. Relevant criteria include whether your account is active, whether content is needed for your workspace, security and support needs, outstanding disputes, and legal accounting or recordkeeping obligations. Different categories of information may therefore be kept for different periods.
You can request account closure or deletion by emailing [email protected]. We will assess the request, verify identity where needed, and explain any applicable exceptions. Some billing, legal, or security records may need to be retained after account closure. Copies in backups and provider systems may remain until their applicable retention cycles complete. We do not promise immediate removal from every system.
7. International processing and security
Makereel is operated from Vietnam, and service providers may process information in other countries with different data-protection laws. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, those requirements apply to our handling of the transfer. We use access controls, authentication, and other technical and organizational measures intended to protect information. No online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your email and sign-in accounts and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. You may also complain to a competent data-protection authority.
Send requests to [email protected], preferably from your account email. Describe the request without sending passwords or unnecessary identity documents. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity and will respond within the period required by applicable law. If we cannot fulfill a request, we will explain the reason and any available next steps. Withdrawing necessary permissions or requesting deletion may affect our ability to provide the service.
9. Children’s information
Makereel is intended for people with the legal capacity to use the service and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and take appropriate action under applicable law.
10. Updates and contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service or our information practices. The effective date above identifies the current version.
